Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

Maastricht University (hereinafter: UM) - through the Microscopy Core Lab (hereinafter: MCL) - intends to procure a state-of-the-art volume Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) system as part of the NWO GWI EMpower initiative. Electron microscopy constitutes one of the core imaging technologies within the MCL infrastructure and supports a broad multidisciplinary user community engaged in advanced biological and biomedical research. The proposed instrument will establish and strengthen the dedicated volume electron microscopy (volume EM) node in Maastricht - complementing the existing focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM) capabilities and expanding access to highthroughput three-dimensional ultrastructural imaging workflows.
