RFI: Through this market consultation - Alliander explicitly seeks to assess to what extent market parties are able to meet the required safety - quality and organizational conditions for relining of gas pipelines. Within the Dutch gas distribution network - a substantial number of pipelines are made of grey cast iron. Due to ageing-related integrity risks and regulatory requirements - these pipelines must be remediated. Traditionally - this remediation is performed by open trench replacement. In densely populated areas - open trench replacement often results in significant societal disruption - long execution times and complex interaction with other underground infrastructure.
