# Introduction Stedin operates a gas distribution network consisting of approximately 28.000 km of gas pipelines and around 3 - 000 non-customer gas pressure reduction stations. The pressure in the pipelines varies from 30 mbar – 200 mbar (low pressure) up to 200 mbar – 8 bar (high pressure). The pipelines consist of several diameters ranging from 110 mm up to 400 mm and the most used materials are PVC - steel and PE. The different gas pressure reduction stations and their function are shown in the table below.
