The delivery and installation of a Live Cell Imaging Microscope. The Live Cell Imaging Microscope will be purchased for the ERC Advanced project Intrap of prof. Jaap den Toonder - which runs in the research section Microsystems at the Mechanical Engineering Department of TU/e. The project will develop and apply a microfluidic platform to understand a key step in cancer metastasis - intravasation - which is the event when cancer cells pass a blood vessel wall to enter into the blood circulation and spread to other locations in the body. In vitro models of intravasation that include engineered blood vessels as well as tumor cells of various types will be integrated in the microfluidic platform.
