Lightning Detection Data

This is the Descriptive Document for the Public European Tender Procedure for the procurement of a Lightning Detection Data Service (LDDS) by the Contracting Authority. The tender procedure is managed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management - on behalf of the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI). # Subject Alerting for hazardous weather to its contractual partners and the general public is a primary duty of KNMI. Lightning data can be one of the triggers for such an alert. This is one reason why lightning data are crucial for KNMI.
