Cryogen free dilution refrigerator

NWO institute AMOLF wishes to purchase a cryogen free dilution refrigerator for the scientific study of nano-optomechanical resonators at low temperatures. The system will be used in the Photonic Forces laboratory of prof. Ewold Verhagen. The system should enable high-precision optical measurements of nano- and micromechanical resonators down to tens of mK temperatures - with the aim to study the quantum limits of measurement and quantum control of mechanical motion. To keep operational costs low - the system should be cryogen free - i.e. not require liquid Helium for operation.
